The Amazing King Bed

I find it PHENOMENAL that I can sleep in the same bed as my husband and not have to touch ALL NIGHT LONG. I didn’t know that this could be such a wonderful thing! I can sleep, and not have a big man arm under my pillow, kinking my neck every morning. I can sleep and curl my legs up without bumping into him, and getting reprimanded for taking up more than my fair share of the bed. I still dont share the covers though. But that’s okay, since he gets our down blanket-less duvet cover (I am not cruel, we live in Florida) and I get the sheet. No more tug of war. We don’t have to smell each others breath up close when we open our eyes in the morning, because we are not on top of each other fighting for space. Mmmm how nice.

Except the past two nights, there have been hellacious thunderstorms. Our daughter wakes up crying, saying “boom boom boom” and “rain” while frantically trying to jump into my arms out of her crib. She is so scared, I feel bad, but I desperately want a full nights sleep. But now with our KING SIZE BED she too can sleep next to momma and papa with out taking up too much room. I did wake up to see her laying sideways, her head by my hip and her feet on my husband’s stomach (he was holding on to them, so cute). Usually about 4am I can throw her back in her bed and sleep until 9. How do these co sleeping weirdos do it? A thrashing toddler takes up a lot of room. When we have tried this before, all she did was sit up and say “hi. hi” and think it was playtime. I like my space. Get a king bed. Not queen. You will be a happier person.
